I've had a few people ask me what camera and lens I use to take my pictures so I thought I'd make a post and tell all! :) This lens is my newest purchase... it just arrived in the mail from adorama.com. It is a Canon 50mm lens with a 1.8 f-stop. At the bottom of this post I will put a picture of what this lens can do. :) Here is the rest of my stuff:
Camera: Canon Digital Rebel XSi (love it)
Lens: Sigma 28-300mm with 3.5 fstop
Lens: Canon 50mm with 1.8 fstop
Ext. Flash: Sunpack PZ42X
I have a few other accessories like remotes, tripods, and reflectors. I also share a set of studio lights with my sisters-in-law.
Here is just a sample of what the Canon 50mm Prime lens with a 1.8 fstop can do...
I focused on the "J" of my macbook pro... You can see that the blur starts before it even hits the M or the U!! Totally awesome! You have to be careful when you use the 1.8 when photographing people. If their face is turned slightly, the eye in the back will be blurry. I always like to keep both eyes in focus at all times. :-)
I hope this helps answer some questions and if you have more, feel free to leave comments and I will answer them! I love helping people use their cameras!! :-)

Date Night
This weekend my husband and I went on a date with a couple of friends while my sweet little sister and boyfriend watched all the kids. We first went out to eat at 25 Main and then we went to a movie called "Date Night." It was so funny and such a nice break from the house and my little boy, even though I missed him like crazy!! While we were out having fun, everyone home was eating pizza, playing football and basketball. It was great they wear the kids out and they were ready for bed when we got home. I love having our date night every week!!!

Laptop VS. Desktop

I'm taking a poll. It is time for me to get my own computer. Garrett and I have shared this laptop for a couple years and I need my own. We both need the computer a lot and he takes priority over me so I need my own so I don't have to wait until he's not using it. Only choice to make now is Laptop VS. Desktop. Please share your opinions here....

It's a BOY!!!
This week I was finally over 18 weeks and got my ultrasound scheduled. We were very excited to find out that Kru is going to have a little brother to play and rough house with. He is measuring alittle bigger, so we might be able to move the due date up a week which would be the first week of Sept. We weren't too surprised it was boy, because I took a gender test that I bought at the store and the result was boy also, the heartbeat was slower, which usually means a boy. So I was pretty convinced on the sex of the baby. We are thinking about naming him Kreed Jay Hutchison. Keep you updated on the progress of our growing family!!!

Back at the Lake
There is nothing quite so relaxing as a day at the lake. Today was our first trip back to the lake this spring/summer. It's so nice to relax to the gentle rocking of the boat on the waves.
We also do some bass fishing and the kids love it! I'm sure I will be posting more pictures of us fishing and our "catch of the day."
Mostly I am excited to get back into the warmth and sun. :)

Congratulations to Tiffany!
We want to extend our warmest wishes to Tiffany and her new baby boy!! We hope you are doing well and can't wait to see fun pictures of your new little bundle of joy! :)
Which is worse?
{I was sitting in the living room, visiting with some friends, when our three kids came out dressed up like this.} Yes... that is my son... :) Gotta love the bright red eye shadow, huge tennis shoes and polka dot dress!!
I'm not sure which is worse: A boy with an older sister that likes to dress him up... or ... a girl with an older brother that covers her with mud 24-7? :)
Any thoughts? :)
Either way, I can't wait to show him this picture when he is older...

Nick
Today was a day that I had been dreading for the last few weeks. We had to put our 13 year old Border Collie named Nick to sleep. A few weeks ago his arthritis took a turn for the worst and he hasn't really been able to walk since. He was a working cow dog, and really helped around the farm when it was time to move the cattle. He lived a full life traveling many miles behind the herd keeping the cows in line. The last few years he has been to old to help out much, but still loved to go to the farm and check on things. We couldn't have asked for a better dog for our family. He was kind to kids and hardly ever barked. I loved Nick and will miss him, but I know right now he is somewhere in the sky herding cows in tall grass. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace.

Just when you begin to think spring has sprung...here comes the RAIN. I guess it's true that April showers bring May flowers, but can May be here now? It was finally getting warm outside, the heater only had to turn on in the mornings, and the sun felt so good on my skin. This morning when I woke up, dark clouds, pouring rain, and it was COLD. One of my favorite things in the summer time is warm summer rain, however, not in the spring. I'm ready for warm weather! Bring on the shorts and flip flops. Bring on popsicles to cool me down. Bring on the sun going down at 9 p.m. Spring I'm ready, where are you?

Happy Easter from Signature Scrapbooks!!
We hope you all are having a happy Easter Day!! At my house, Easter has been wonderful. Surprisingly the kids woke up early?? I guess I better get used to the fact that they are going to start waking up early on the Holidays... they have never been early risers for Christmas or Easter so I figured we'd all sleep in. :) Not the case this morning...
Once we got up and out to the baskets... the kids dug right in. The Easter Bunny was wise this year and didn't do a whole lot of candy. Each child got a little toy in their basket along with a new outfit (definitely needed for summer). GREAT JOB EASTER BUNNY!! :)
After the baskets were emptied we did our own little "Easter Egg Bust". For those of you who don't know what that is, I'll explain. :) Brooklyn and I both got a hard boiled egg from our colored eggs (beautiful this year I might add). Next I hold the egg in my hand so just the top or bottom is showing. Then, Brooklyn uses the top or bottom of her egg to tap my egg. You are trying to crack your opponents egg or have theirs crack when they hit you. Mine cracked when Brooklyn hit me so it was now my turn to hit her egg. She held it while I turned my egg over to the side that wasn't cracked, and lightly hit her egg... mine cracked again!!! She won my egg. She then went on to battle the rest of the family, collecting eggs as she won or giving her egg as she lost by cracking both sides. :) Brooklyn ended up having the "Winner" egg that beat everyone with one cracked side and one side that couldn't be beat! She was so excited! :)
Can you believe all this has gone on and its only 9:00am?? If you know me, you know that is a miracle! :)
Anyway, in honor of Easter... I am giving a coupon code to our store for 20% off your entire purchase. Just enter EASTER10 at checkout!! This coupon will be good until Friday, April 9th so take advantage and have a Wonderful Easter!!! :)

"Oh Happy Day" Freebie
To download the Oh Happy Day Freebie, Please click HERE!!
Being 9 months pregnant and anxiously anticipating the arrival of my new little one, I had to create something with bright and fun colors to help me stay sane. There is just something about feeling overly HUGE and mentally dealing with the fact that you anticipated not being pregnant by now, that really tests a persons psychological health. ;-) Hopefully there are some of you out there that can relate and I'm not the only crazy one. :-) Anyways, I'll I have to say is.... thank goodness for the ability to create!! My "Oh Happy Day" Kit literally shed light on me this week, which is why I wanted everyone to share my fun. Here is a freebie that coordinates with the "Oh Happy Day" Kit. Please go get it and ENJOY!!!
